What does a missionary do?
-
A missionary is someone who goes to another community, culture, or country to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and help establish and strengthen local churches.
-
Missionaries may preach, teach the Bible, disciple new believers, lead Bible studies, train local pastors, work with children and families, and serve their communities in practical ways.
-
St. Clair Baptist currently has missionaries serving in 7 different countries. Missionaries serve all over the world. Some serve in large cities, remote villages, schools, churches, prisons, hospitals, or areas where they are very few Gospel-preaching churches.
-
Missionaries go because Jesus commanded His followers to take the Gospel to all nations. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations… Matthew 28:19
-
Many missionaries are supported financially and prayerfully by local churches and individual believers who partner with them in their ministry. It is our goal at St. Clair Baptist Church to support 10 missionaries by the end of 2027.
-
Our church partners with missionaries through prayer, financial support, encouragement, and a shared desire to see people reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
-
Absolutely. God uses ordinary people who are willing to follow Him. Missions begins with a willing heart that says, “Here am I; send me.” - Isaiah 6:8
It is our prayer that God uses the members of St. Clair Baptist Church to become the next generation of missionaries that take the Gospel across the world.
